In A Heartbeat donates AEDs to schools, businesses and families that are in need; helps with CPR and AED training; and assists in creating action plans for emergency situations.
SCA is an equal opportunity killer. It strikes victims of all ages, colors, ethnic backgrounds, sizes and shapes at any time of the day or night and without regard to their religion. There are rarely any symptoms or warnings, and for most, their first symptom is their last. The electric shock from an AED within five minutes is the best chance a victim has. If this shock isn’t given in ten minutes, they stand little chance of surviving.
We continue to see many young athletes and children die from SCA. Even one death is one too many. In A Heartbeat is committed to spreading awareness and providing people with knowledge and equipment to save a life.
