Deputies reunite with La Puente toddler they saved with CPR

When Los Angeles County sheriff’s Deputy Erik Nava got the call about a toddler trapped by a motorized gate in La Puente Monday afternoon, he sped off and was there within a minute.

He arrived at the apartment complex Main Street and found a man carrying a limp, discolored, lifeless child in his arms. Nava later found out that the man was the property manager and had kicked the gate open to free the child, 16-month-old Kevin Lopez.
