To say we have been busy this past month would be an understatement! We are so proud of the large impact we have made in just the last 30 days. We donated 9 AEDS to organizations in need. The AED recipients were Master’s Manna (Wallingford, CT), Energy Zone Fitness (Cromwell, CT), St. John Paul II (Middletown, CT), Reynold’s Gym (Lyme, CT), Knights of St. Patrick (New Haven, CT), Wolcott High School (Wolcott, CT – 2 AEDS), and Maloney High School (Meriden, CT). We partnered with UCal McKenzie Breakaway Foundation to place an AED at Moakley Park in Boston, MA. This is the first donation to kick off a project the aims to place AEDs at various other parks throughout the city. We have now donated 268 AEDS!
We also were busy with our Cardiac Screening Program. We partnered with Post University and Southern CT State University to provide ECGs to their athletes. We also hosted two Community Screening events in partnership with Advanced Physical Therapy and provided free ECGs to students in Wolcott and Meriden, CT. We provided over 500 free ECGs just in the last week.
We believe this combination of Primary Prevention (screening young hearts with an ECG) and Secondary Prevention (helping set up complete AED programs) will help save more lives from sudden cardiac arrest! Thank you to our supporters and incredible volunteers for making this all happen.
