March is here and Spring is quickly approaching. This is a great reminder to check your AED monthly and ensure it is ready to help save a life! Here are the questions you should be answering when checking your AED:
● Is the Active Status Indicator light on your AED flashing green?
● Are the AED pads plugged in and ready for use?
● Does the AED appear to be undamaged and ready for use?
● Is the AED free of chirping and warning notifications?
● Are the AED pads within their usable date?
● Is the AED battery within its usable date?
If the answer to any of these questions is no, you should call the manufacturer right away.
We donated 4 AEDS this past month and have now donated a total of 242. The AED recipients were Guilford Athletic Center, Southington Community Theatre, and Bronx Lacrosse (2 AEDS). Thank you to our partners from The DiRocco Family and More George for making the donations to Bronx Lacrosse possible.
We are very proud that our abstract, “FOUNDATION-ACADEMIC PARTNERSHIP FOR ECG SCREENING OF UNIVERSITY VARSITY ATHLETES,” was selected to be presented at this year’s American College of Cardiology meeting in New Orleans. Thank you Dr. Lampert for your support and for presenting this poster at the meeting.
We have many community screening events coming up this Spring and we are excited to share those with you after they happen.
