When Odessa police officer Cpl. Jared Wescoat saw a 45-year-old woman unresponsive and not breathing on her bed, he knew exactly what to do.
Wescoat had been called to the woman’s home on the afternoon of June 11 in the 1000 block of Zacatecas Avenue, where he found her unresponsive. Thanks to his CPR training, Wescoat was able to perform CPR for a few minutes, restoring her heartbeat before Odessa Fire Rescue arrived on scene to continue providing medical assistance.
